After months of amazing display of rare talent, stage craft and youthful
athleticism, the season one of the Airtel-sponsored Nigeria’s Got Talent (NGT)
reality show finally came to an end as Amarachi
Uyanne, 8 year old dancer and singer emerged winner. She bagged home a cash
prize of 10 million naira.
Amarachi,
from Benin City, Edo State, was announced winner of the highly competitive and
entertaining show after scooping the highest number of votes from viewers.
The young talent was electrifying on stage during the grand finale as
she pulled off a surprise on the audience with a violin, an instrument she
masterfully played to the delight of all, earning herself a standing ovation.
‘‘I am ecstatic
and proud. Every parent should allow their kids do whatever they can do to
display their talents’’, said Emike Uyanne, mother of the young millionaire’’
Already, Amarachi
has plans for her money. “I want to study abroad with the money”, she enthused
and went further to show her philanthropic side by declaring, “I also want to
help orphans and the needy.” While her skills were never in doubt from the
beginning, Amarachi believes she couldn’t have made it far without God. “I
never thought that I will win. I thank God for helping through it all,” she
said.
The Judges Yibo Koko, Kate Henshaw and Dan Foster confirmed the
excellent performance of Amarachi and said she deserved to win.
The reality
show has been an eventful and interesting one for everyone, as the curtain is drawn;
Airtel appreciates everyone who has participated so far in the success of the
show.
According to
Olu Akanmu, Chief Marketing Officer, Airtel Nigeria, ‘’this debut season of the
NGT show has been quite an eventful one for everyone. We remain focused on
creating a future of great possibilities for the Nigerian youth’’.
