The Press Conference is intended to enlighten and
educate the general public about the categories of the awards, awardees and
winners of past awards.
The World Summit Award started as part of the United Nations World Summit on Information
Society which commenced as a process in 2003 with the 1st WSIS conference in
Geneva.
Winners of this year’s event will be hosted by
ICTA, the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka.
The UN World Summit Award is being co-ordinated in
Nigeria to promote an increased impact of Nigeria's technological innovations
in global stage as a Not-for-Profit initiative in Nigeria by the Eminent WSA
National Expert for NIGERIA, Mr Amos Emmanuel (mNCS).
