COUNTDOWN TO THE NIGERIA FASHION WEEK 2012, GOING GREEN………

The most anticipated fashion event in Nigeria is here again. It’s the Nigeria Fashion Week, NFW. The NFW 2012 is scheduled for 8th – 10th November at the Muson Centre, Lagos. No doubt, this year’s event will be more entertaining, exciting and interesting as Lexy Mojo Eyes, president, NFW, introduced a new style to spice up the event and make it worthwhile. Unlike last year where 42 exhibitors displayed their products to each other and for potential buyers who were present, NFW 2012 has promised to be bigger. For the first time in the history of the Nigerian fashion industry, international buyers are attending and sourcing for fashion products and accessories from Nigeria. Some of the confirmed buyers expected include the Milan based Camera Buyer Moda who runs over 120 shops in Europe. Also expected is the Sak Brand Group which is one of the largest accessory companies in the United States. It has outlets in 4,500 departmental stores in the United States and is sold across the globe in 24 international markets. Some of its outlets includes Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Belk, Neiman, JC Penny, Sears, Nordstrom, Jaks Fifth Avenue etc. Also attending is the Australian based TCF Global Group.
According to Mojo Eyes, president, NFW, ‘‘it is worthless to have a fashion week without buyers. The major aim of fashion weeks anywhere around the world is to create market for participating designers collection”. Some of the Partners of the Nigeria Fashion Week 2012 include; Next Generation Luxury, Chevrolet cars (represented by CFAO in Nigeria), M Gallery Hotel (the Moorhouse), Prime Chinese restaurant, Ibis Hotel, Da Viva, Ovation International, Make Me Beauty Place, City People magazines, Sweet Home Suites, Planet One Hospitality, Saffron restaurant, Sakr Power Group, Cookie jar, Carthago Limited, Villa Picassa, Distell Limited, Rossonero (jewelry &watches) and Rhapsody’s (bar lounge).
This is a life time opportunity and a great height for the Nigeria fashion industry/designers. Expectedly, jumbo sales are on the way! This wonderful and commercially rewarding exhibition is organised by LEGENDARY GOLD LIMITED, a fore company in the fashion world, established since 1993 for the purpose of creating a platform for Nigerian manufacturers of garments, fabrics, hair and beauty products to display their capabilities home and abroad.
