MEET MISS AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE 2013 CONTESTANTS...


  The countdown has begun for the most anticipated and award winning peace pageant in Nigeria, Miss Ambassador for Peace Pageant with 34 contestants representing the entire federation. Some of the contestants will be crowned zonal queens while the eventual winner will become Miss Ambassador for Peace Beauty Queen 2013. The aim of this pageant is to enlighten youths all over the world and Nigeria in particular to embrace peace not minding the ethno-religious affiliation. The out-going queen, Beauty Istifanus has achieved alot, she has not rested in creating a landmark by making sure that the dream of the project is fulfilled. She visited schools both primary and secondary, flood and bomb blast victims and less privilege homes within the northern parts of the country where medical assistant was rendered, food items, exercise books and other financial supports was rendered for their up-keep. 

As we look up to hosting the 2013 edition of Miss Ambassador for Peace Beauty Pageant/ Peace Ambassador Agency Award. We call on all peace loving and patriotic Nigerians to support this project to enable us promote peace in our country as no country or organization can achieve any meaningful development without peace. The ground finale comes up in Abuja on 21st September 2013 at Sheraton Hotel and Towers. 

The president/ CEO of the event Ambassador Kingsley Amafibe disclosed that distinguished personalities who have contributed immensely to the growth of nation peace building will be honoured,   such as Prince Eze Madumere (Deputy Governor Imo State), Rev Babajide Olowodola (Foursquare Gospel Church Abuja), Mrs Merit Gordon Obua (wife of the CSO to the President Federal Republic of Nigeria), Chief Dr. Mrs. Tosin Dokpesi (Managing Director AIT), Kester O. Agwu (Managing Director Anan World), James Expensive (Wazobia FM), Princess Uche Elendu Walter( Actress), Charles Inojie (Actor), Akinlium Julius (Elenu comedian). Ikenna Emewu (Sun Newspaper), Mr Seyi Adekunle (House of Vodi)

Host/MCs of the event are popular actress Empress Njamah and radio personality Big Mo of wazobia FM.

MOTHER, 2 DAUGHTERS RAPED…N50, 000 STOLEN

  A rape incident allegedly involving a mother and her two daughters in Ikwo Local government of Ebonyi state has been reported to the State Police Command for investigation and arrest of the suspects. 
It was learnt that the suspects who came at night when their victims were already asleep raped them in turns at gun point after stealing the sum of N50, 000, nine different models of handset and a Carter motorcycle from them.
Sources said that the hoodlums who were purportedly sent by a top politician in the area (name withheld) to kill the mother of two daughters and Councillor representing Ndiagu Echara Ward I in Ikwo Local government Area of Ebonyi State, Mrs. Margret Elom could not do so but decided to rape them and cart away their belongings.
Briefing newsmen at the Command Headquarters, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sylvester Igbo who confirmed the incident insisted that only Hon. Elom’s daughters were raped when the suspects invaded the victims’ residence.
He said: “One Hon. Margret Elom, the Councillor representing Ndiagu Echara Ward I from Ikwo Local government area of Ebonyi state reported that while she was sleeping with her daughters some hoodlums broke into their house and stole the sum of N50, 000 from her and collected one Carter motorcycle valued at N120, 000 and nine different handsets.
“And in the process of robbing her of her belongings, two of her daughters were raped by the two suspects; the suspects were later identified as one Chidi Eze, 24, Sunday Nwogu, 23. Chidi was arraigned in court on 12th August, 2013."

FOUR PERSONS, INCLUDING POLICEMAN, KILLED AS YOUNG SHALL GROW CEO ESCAPES DEATH



Four persons, including a police corporal, were killed when suspected assassins tried to kill the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Young Shall Grow Motors, Vincent Obianodo.
It was gathered that a police corporal, a driver and two suspected assassins were killed after a protracted gun battle at Festac area of Lagos State. Obianodo was shot in the hand during the gun duel.
The assassins tried to kill the transporter but were given a tough battle by policemen attached to him.
The assassins were believed to have trailed the transporter as he left the office until he reached his home at 4th Avenue, Festac before they launched the surprised attack on him.
The assassins were however surprised when the police fought to keep bullets from hitting the CEO.
When the smoke from the blazing guns settled, four corpses were on ground, while the CEO was nursing a bullet inflicted wound on his hand.
Among the dead were two members of the assassins gang, a police corporal and a driver.
The policeman has been identified as Ngozi Chijioke. It was also learnt that ‘E’ commander, Dan Okoro, who was alerted, immediately drafted a team of policemen that raced to the scene.
A source insisted that the way the killers opened fire on Obianodo showed they were determined to kill him.
Police spokesperson in Lagos State, Ngozi Braide, said Obianodo was attacked at 22 Road, Festac Town.
Briade said: “The hoodlums opened fire at him and his driver was shot dead.
“Obianodo was shot on the hand and the police corporal with him was killed.”
According to Braide, a patrol team heard sporadic gunshot and raced towards the direction the gun sounds were coming from.
She added that the bandits also opened fire at the sight of the patrol team.
Her words: “Our men retaliated and the place was like a battlefield.
“When the dust settled, the police shot dead two of the men and others escaped with bullet wounds.”
Braide said that a Toyota Highlander Sport Utility Vehicle, which the killers came with, was covered with bullet holes, adding that police recovered one AK 47, one AK 49 riffles and eight magazines loaded with ammunition.
She said that only investigation will reveal the reason behind the attack.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, bent on apprehending the fleeing killers, has urged all hospitals and members of the public to report anyone with bullet wounds to the nearest police station.
