From the stable of Iyabo Ojo Films Production, presents SILENCE, the first Nigerian movie that
campaigns against Child Abuse and Domestic Violence, together referred to as
Family Violence.
The blockbuster movie is produced by Iyabo Ojo, directed by
Alex Mouth, starring talented actors like Alex
Osifo, Joseph Benjamin, Iyabo Ojo, Akin Lewis, Yinka Quadri, Ronke Ojo,
Priscilla Ojo and host of others. The shoot kicked off yesterday, November 27 in
Lagos, Nigeria.
The
prevalence of Child Abuse has spread like a wild fire. It continues to be the
greatest public health threat to children. It violates a child’s trust and relationship with the world as they experience conflictual relationships,
mental health issues, academic underperformance and chaotic lifestyles which
emanates from betrayal. This affects a child’s capacity to establish and
sustain significant attachments throughout life.
Acknowledging
the signs of an abusive relationship and voicing out is the first step to
ending it. No one should live in fear of the person they love. This is the
message SILENCE is passing out to
everyone.
The
movie beckons on everyone; parents, society and government to join hands in
curbing this hazardous situation.
