BON AWARD 2013 TO BE HOSTED BY GBENGA ADEYINKA 1ST AND WANA UDOBANG (WANAWANA)


The organizers of BON Award 2013 is proud to announce Gbenga Adeyinka 1st and Wanawana to anchor this year’s award which is slated to hold in Asaba Delta state on the 9th of November 2013 at The Dome.  

As the Longest running reward platform for Movie stars in Nigeria, our mission is to celebrate the true stars of Nollywood, a night of glitz and glamor where world class entertainment will be performed and rewarded. 
Gbenga Adeyinka is a graduate of English from the University of Lagos with Television programmes on AIT, MBI, GALAXY T.V and AFRICA MAGIC on DSTV and he also appears on segments on programmes on many television shows. His humor emanates from an informed mind with a lot of depth and richness in meaning. He is a polyglot whose presentation medium is English, blended with the three major Nigerian Languages and a working knowledge of three other international languages. His comedy and music shows tagged "Gbenga Adeyinka 1st and friends and Comedy Unleashed, a leading upscale comedy event that continues to gather greater momentum and win the heart of new fans.

Wana, a graduate of Creative Arts with a first class degree in Journalism, In the UK, she has worked as a freelance features producer for the BBC world service and Resonance FM(London’s only art radio station). She honed her skills as a researcher whilst working for some of Britain’s biggest independent production houses, Wise Buddah, Above the Title and Somethin’Else productions are just a few on the list. She is a keen performance poet, public speaker in the areas of gender advocacy and youth mentorship, a short fiction writer and alumni of the Farafina Creative Writers Workshop.  Wana currently works as a radio presenter and producer at 92.3 Inspiration FM in Lagos, Nigeria.

A GATHERING OF ICONS….CLASSIC AFRICA MERIT AWARD (CAMA 2013)

It was a gathering of who is who yesterday, September 8, as personalities from all walks of life gathered at 10 degrees hall, Oregun to receive a prestigious award, Classic Africa Merit Award 2013.

The event was graced by dignitaries and celebrities like Chief Alex Akinyele, Hon. Lola Akande, Iyabo Ojo, Ngozi Nwosu, Benita Nzeribe, Emela Osuji, (Madam Modesty, Hafiz Oyetoro (Saka), Foluke Daramola, Hakeem Rahman, Tara of Tarries World, Little Princess of the Universe and Miss Tourism (National Museum) and lots more.
There were lots of music performances by artistes, especially the breath-taking performance by the little and famous Oziomachukwu Favour Mojekwu, popularly known as Ozzybosco Wonderkid. Kofi Idowu was also there to crack people’s ribs.

The publisher of Classic Magazine, Dave Agwazim gave a brief speech about the organisation, what it is known for and their journey over the years. He did not fail to appreciate and recognise all dignitaries in attendance. 

It was an A-list gathering as awardees walked up the stage majestically to receive their awards.  Some of the awardees are Hon. Lola Akande, Iyabo Ojo, Hafiz Oyetoro, Ngozi Nwosu, Cornel Udofia, Lady 2pee’s, Temitope Greenaway (Miz Gold), Angela Chioma John, Ozzybosco Wonderkid, and other prominent people who has contributed greatly to the society.

ACTRESS SENT TO TWO MONTHS IN PRISON FOR STEALING IPAD

 
An Abuja Senior Magistrates’ Court on Friday sentenced an actress, Nancy Ndukwe 26, of Jikwoyi, Abuja, to two months imprisonment for stealing an Ipad, IPhone and Jewellery.
The Police Prosecutor, Cpl. Paul Anigbo, told the court that the matter was reported at the Lugbe Police Station by one Faith Njoku of Kapuwa Village, Lugbe, Abuja on Sept. 2.
Anigbo told the court that Ndukwe reported that her friend, Njoku visited her on the said date and stole her Ipad, IPhone and Jewellery, all valued at N190,000.
Anigbo listed the price of each of the items as reported by the complainant as Ipad, (N100,000), IPhone (N50,000) and Jewellery (N40,000).
He said that during police investigation, the items were found in the convict’s possession.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Penal Code.
The convict pleaded guilty to the charge but begged the court for mercy.
“I stole the items due to frustration. I have a one-year-old son to cater for. I am sorry and I promise not to do such again,” she said.
The Magistrate, Mr Celestine Odo, however, gave the convict two months imprisonment or an option of six thousand naira fine.

 PHOTOS- D’BANJ IN PARIS


D'Banj is apparently in France on the invitation of Hennessy. The Nigerian pop star is the sole headliner for this year's Hennessy Artistry and he has already released the theme track for this year's project. He arrived France this morning from the US where he attended Davido's sister's wedding.
According to his people, he is already in Cognac (The home of Hennessy) where he's staying at the Chateau De Bangolet. Others on the visit are his manager Tony Nwakalor, Hennessy Brand manager Lere Awokoya, Marketing Manager Moet Hennessy Nigeria David Hourdry, Bolaji Kekere-Eku of 37th State and Ayeni Adekunle of BHM. D'Banj is staying in the same room where General Charles De Gaulle stayed when he visited the Hennessy mansion.
