MADAM MODESTY RECEIVES UNITED NATIONS CELEBRITIES’ AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE AWARD
Madam Modesty is the founder of Women and Modesty Internationals, an NGO that advocates for decent
dressing among women.
Overtime, Women and Modesty Internationals has been able
to reach out to Nigerian women and ladies on morals and the effect of
provocative and revealing dresses.
According to Madam Modesty, for the nation to curb the
spread of HIV/AIDS and other terminal diseases, it has to start from the grassroots
by campaigning against seductive appearance among women.
‘‘The fashion sense of today’s female folks is extremely
appalling. Fashion is not revealing your intimate parts. You can dress decently
and still look good. What you wear is what you are. Dressing modestly does not make anyone a saint, we all have our shortcomings but lets cover up our bodies as we work on those shortcomings'', she said.
To madam modesty, this is her own quota to ensure rapid growth and development in her beloved country, Nigeria.
From the above premise, the reason for the award is lucid
and not far-fetched.
Before the awards were given, the president of the Youth
Federation for World Peace, Ambassador
Dr Eras Darlington Eguaoje gave a speech on Fundamental Universal Principles and World Peace.
The United Nations Celebrities’ Ambassadors for Peace Award is usually given to recognise people who have contributed to the growth of peace in their respective countries. The theme for the year was Quest for sustainable peace in Nigeria.
The remarkable event was also graced by Soul E baba and Alariwo of Africa, Kingsley Bucknor, Tokunbo Adeyemi and host of others.
